Our privacy policy

In short: we only ask for what we need, we never sell anything on, and our website works without tracking cookies. The details are below.

Last updated on 3 November 2026

1Who is responsible?

This privacy policy applies to the website wakaaro.be and to your contacts with Wakaaro (quotations, orders, bookings, sessions). The data controller is:

Think Nova NV (trading under the brand name Wakaaro)
Registered office: Brouwerijstraat 26A, 9880 Aalter, Belgium
Company and VAT number: BE 0870.459.687
Email: [email protected] · Phone: +32 9 375 68 00

Questions about your data? Email [email protected].

2What data we collect, and why

When you fill in a form (contact, choice guide, quotation or booking request): your name, email address, and whatever you enter yourself, such as phone number, company, number of people, preferred date and your message. We use this to answer your question and prepare a proposal. Legal basis: steps you request before an agreement, and our legitimate interest in answering questions.

When you place an order: your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery address, company name and VAT number, and what you ordered. Legal basis: performance of the agreement and our legal (accounting and tax) obligations. Online payments go through Mollie: we do not see or store any card or bank details. We check VAT numbers in VIES, the European Commission's database.

When your team plays Missie Sustaire: the team name, company and score may appear in the public ranking. If you do not want this, just let us know.

When you take part in a contest (such as the Chocolate Challenge): your name, email address and answers, to determine and contact the winner.

When you join a waiting list: your name, email address and the desired quantity, to let you know as soon as stock is available again.

We do not send newsletters or advertising unless you chose to receive them.

3When you visit the website

We measure visits anonymously: without cookies and without storing your IP address. We only see which pages are viewed, which website visitors come from, from which country and with which type of device. This does not allow us to recognise or follow you.

Our hosting partner processes technical data (such as your IP address) to deliver the website and protect it against abuse and spam. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, well-functioning website.

Vimeo videos only load when you click play yourself.

4Cookies

Our website uses no tracking, advertising or analytics cookies. That is why you do not see a cookie banner.

We only store what is strictly necessary or purely for your convenience, and it stays in your own browser: for example that you already saw the opening animation, or which badges you earned on the gamification page. You can always clear this via your browser settings.

5Who we share data with

We never sell your data. We work with a limited number of carefully selected service providers who only process data on our behalf and according to our instructions:

  • for hosting and securing the website;
  • for storing requests, orders and bookings (in the European Union);
  • for sending emails, such as confirmations;
  • for online payments (Mollie);
  • carriers, to deliver an order;
  • our accountant, for invoices.

Apart from that, we only share data when the law requires us to. If a service provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, this only happens with the safeguards required by law, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

6How long we keep data

  • Questions and requests that do not lead to an assignment: up to 2 years after our last contact.
  • Orders, invoices and assignments: as long as accounting and tax law requires (currently up to 10 years).
  • Waiting lists: until we have notified you or you unsubscribe.
  • Contests: until the end of the contest, and at most 1 year.
  • Visitor statistics: these contain no personal data.

7Security

We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, and only people who need it for their work can access it. Still, no system is completely watertight. If you notice anything suspicious, please let us know straight away.

8Your rights

You can always ask us to:

  • access your data and receive a copy;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • erase your data, if we are no longer legally required to keep it;
  • restrict its use, or object to it;
  • transfer your data to another party.

Send your request to [email protected]. We reply within one month. We may first ask you to confirm your identity.

Not happy with how we handle your data? You can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels.

9Children

Our services are aimed at adults and organisations. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

10Changes

We update this privacy policy when the way we work changes. At the top you can see when it was last updated. For important changes, we will make this clear on the website.

Our other websites and applications (such as sdgame.eu or the Sustainable Consumption app) may have their own privacy statement.
